I've Been Baking... Again!

With all of the extremely hot weather we are having I am spending a lot of time indoors.  And what does one do? Well she bakes!  I found this yummy recipe on Pinterest and knew I had to try it.  I love anything made with fresh orange juice and zest.  They are just slightly sweet with a nice, fresh orange flavor... just delicious and perfect for summer!  I am looking forward to enjoying one in the morning with a hot cup of coffee!

The glaze makes them perfect!

Gallery Wall and My Dining Room

Okay friends I need your honest opinion on my gallery wall.  I like it and I don't like it.  I used mirrors that I already had on hand.  My favorite being the sunburst mirror, but I could always find another spot for it.  I am not sure about the black ones.  I really don't love them.  So my question to you is should they all be rectangular, but different sizes and similar in frame finish?  Should they go up to the crown molding?  Should they cover the entire wall, or just over the side table?  The black lamp will eventually be changed when I find a new one, maybe even a pair.  And I am not crazy about the wall color in this space, but I do not plan to change it because it would be such a process.  Our kitchen, family room, and dining room are basically one room plus two hallways.  I am just not up for that kind of project especially with a toddler running around and we keep saying that we are eventually going to move.

Crepe Myrtle

My lovely Crepe Myrtle is in full bloom and I just had to show it off!

When it is in bloom it covers my entire dining room window.  I love that I can also enjoy it from the inside.

Summer is definitely here.  It is 96 degrees today!   Hope you are staying cool.  We are spending lots of time inside.

Cupcakes!

 We stopped by Sur La Table on Monday and Charlotte picked out these lovely polka dot baking cups and fun sprinkles.  I used a box cake mix and made this yummy Cloudburst frosting.  The frosting was deliciously light and fluffy, like clouds.
