Charleston Getaway

We took a trip to Charleston for a few days the first week of June.  It was a much needed getaway after all the busyness from the last month of school.  The weather was mostly overcast with a few showers one of the days, but I didn't mind at all, as it kept it from being blazing hot.  The south gets really hot and humid in the summer.  I love the longer days and beautiful flowers that come with summer, but not so much the heat.

Have you ever visited Charleston, SC?  It's such a beautiful, historical city and the coast is only a twenty minute drive from downtown Charleston.  I love to walk the cobblestone streets of Charleston and take in all of its beauty.  The food is also fabulous - lots of wonderful, local seafood on every corner.  It was definitely a nice, little getaway to one of my favorite cities!

Charleston

We took a trip to Charleston a few weeks ago and we had a great time!  I love Charleston for so many reasons - it's just such a charming, historical city.  The food is always fabulous in Charleston and the homes and gardens are breathtaking.  

We stayed on Isle of Palms by the beach which is about a twenty minute drive from downtown Charleston.  Our daughter loved spending time at the pool at our resort and we all enjoyed taking walks on the beach looking for shells.

We can't wait to visit again!

New Artwork and It's Our Anniversary

While in Charleston, we visited the Spoleto Art Festival and found a little something from a local artist to bring home with us!  It's just perfect... bright and colorful and it makes me happy every time I look at it!  Just a little something to remember our fun vacation by.

I may eventually frame it (any thoughts on frames?), but for now I kind of like it the way it is...

Oh, and "Happy Anniversary" to my dear husband!  We are celebrating seven years today!

Back from Vacation

We just returned from vacation in Charleston and The Isle of Palms.  It was really nice to get away for some much needed family time!  We enjoyed the sunshine, blue skies, the beach and lots of wonderful seafood!

Charleston...We're Back

My husband had the week off so we headed to Charleston for several days.  It's one of our favorite places.  The weather was beautiful and we had such a wonderful time!  I miss it already.  We stayed here which was perfect!

Charleston is truly such a beautiful city full of gorgeous homes, cobblestone streets,  beautiful flowers, and lots of delicious food!

A vacation was exactly what we needed.  We all had such fun together!  I love my little family!

Six years ago today...

I said "Yes!!".  On this day, six years ago, my husband proposed to me. We went to Charleston, SC for a long romantic weekend filled with a carriage ride, wonderful restaurants (82 Queen, High Cotton) just to name a few, wine, beautiful flowers, an awesome hotel (The Market Pavillion), I could not have asked for a more perfect weekend.  The proposal was perfect and romantic in every way.  We headed out to the beach for an afternoon walk on our last day where my husband took my hand and told me how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.  From that moment on we were a couple.  Four months later we were married at White Point Gardens on a beautiful, June Saturday morning in Charleston, of course.
