Weekly Glimmers

Hello, Friends! Just a quick pop in with a few things that have brought me joy this week.

My favorite go-to frothy matcha. There is something so special and relaxing about taking the time to make a cup of tea and also to sit and enjoy it!

I baked a delicious Chocolate Beet Snack Cake. And you have no idea the cake contains beets! It's very good and very chocolaty.

We ordered a cozy new bed from LL Bean for Rosie, and as you can see, she loves it!

And a beautiful winter sunset.

I hope you have a cozy weekend! It's been so cold here. Hopefully, a warmup isn't too far away!

  2. I have a love hate relationship with matcha. I want to love it but....give me a steaming mug of a good latte any day! :) Yours came out so pretty.

YAY for LLB. they're having a fantastic sale currently. at least here in our local store anyways...i think online as well. Glad your puppy loves the bed.
OOH...i'll have to think about making chocolate beet snack cake. It looks like a chocolate tea bread I sometimes make around Xmas time. yesterday i was craving some sweets (we haven't had any since xmas ) so I made a homemade Cinnamon chocolate chip coffee cake. It came out great!
stay cozy. We woke up to some snow finally although it was only a half inch. (i live in eastern NYS). I wish we would get at least 4-6 so i can snowshoe!!

  4. Wonderful glimmers. That cake looks delicious, I find vegetables can give a cake moisture even though you can't taste what's been added. What a beautiful sunset.

  8. Hi Julia! Thanks for cake recipe! It looks so moist and delicious. I saw a Mary Berry show where she made one...neat idea. Reminds me of using zucchini in cake. I've had llbean dog beds in the past and I like how they are washable, insert and cover...I think I had a different version though that both were washable. andrea

  10. I LOVE this post. I used beets in one of my more recent homemade noodles and have you tried yams yet in bakes? Soooo good. And black beans. Really lots and lots of good options.

Yes, I love a good cuppa and just to be still and sip it. A true treat indeed.

    Cheers, Ivy.
