Happy New Year!!

Hello!  And Happy New Year!!  Just dusting off my blog a bit - it's been almost Two years since I last posted.  Wow, I suppose life just got really busy and then there is Instagram, so I seem to be posting mostly there these days.  But I miss blogging and hope to pop back in more often this year.

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families and a very Happy New Year!  Oh, and I made some yummy dutch oven bread this past week which has been perfect toasted and topped with butter.  Also, making lots of soups and chili and spaghetti with homemade meatballs, as the weather has been very cold and blustery for the past few weeks.  We've also written thank you notes for gifts and bought a new lovely calendar for the kitchen.  It's winter and I love it!  Hopefully, we will get another snow before it's over.  My eight year old has her fingers crossed!

  1. Hi Julia! It's so nice to see you blogging again. I look forward to reading more. It sounds like you had a great Christmas. I loved seeing a new photo of Charlotte, she's getting so big! Happy New Year to all of you.

  2. Oh wow, that bread!!! I've been wanting to make some dutch oven bread but always get lazy because we have such great bread here in the Bay Area, but there is something so satisfying about making bread. When I was in college I always had some form of bread rising. I really want to make some cinnamon rolls soon :) I meant to ask if you guys moved? I remember you were between homes last we exchanged blog comments.
I've been reading blogs again and wanting to make my space more up to date as well, so lets hope we both follow through :)

  3. I love that you baked bread in college! That's so awesome! I usually buy bread, but there is something extra special about baking it at home and the way it makes your kitchen smell. I would love to make cinnamon rolls, too! Yes, we moved again last summer since we last exchanged comments. We like the house we are renting now, but likely will move another time as we want to buy a house. We would love to have a third bedroom and a garage again. Also, we are contemplating moving to a suburb of Charlotte, as we are about an hour from there now. We are going to visit private schools there next month. We love our daughter's private school here, but would also like to be closer to the city. We have a decision to make soon, as we are ready to totally settle down for a good while.

  4. You should snap a few more pics of your house, I love to see that style of home (bungalow). There are super cool ones in Berkeley that I would love to live in, but as in anything in the Bay Area, the prices are so high that I can only dream of them hahah.
