Charlotte's First Day of Preschool

Charlotte started preschool today, and she did so well!  I have felt stressed the past few weeks about sending her to school for the first time, and I was relieved to find out that she enjoyed it so much.  There were no tears this morning from Charlotte or Mommy!  I did my share of crying this summer... this was big for us!  It was time though, and she was ready.  Mommy was ready, too.  I look forward to having three mornings a week to myself.  My house is in desperate need of cleaning and organizing... I am so far behind.  Charlotte is looking forward to school again on Friday and that makes me so happy that she is happy!

I snapped this photo this morning right after she woke up.  Already excited about her big day!

Ready to go with her new backpack, and bunny of course.

I enjoyed a relaxing morning at Starbucks catching-up with a few of my favorite magazines.

It was a good day!

  1. Yay! I'm so happy to read this post! Maybe a little teary myself just because I'm so happy for you both. :) I'm so glad it went well and that you both had a good day. Good for you, having some time to yourself to relax and get things done. You're both going to do just fine. :)

  2. i remember sending my oldest daughter off to pre school and I was worried sick, and had to call to see if she was OK. She was having a blast and could care less that I wasn't there! So much her personality though :) My youngest never went to preschool and was super attached to me. To this day, she is now 23, she still is so close to me.
Hope Charlotte makes some good friends and has lots of fun!

  4. Yay! The release of that stress must feel great. Jane's first day is in two more weeks. She's been so incredible emotional lately. Part of me wonders if it's due to some underlying anxiety? Maybe I'm reading too much into it - she is 3-1/2 after all!

    1. Yes, the release of that stress feels wonderful! I could finally breathe again last night!!! I am sure Jane will do great at preschool, too! I wouldn't read into it too much. She probably suspects a change is around the corner, and is maybe feeling a little anxiety. I look forward to hearing about her first day at school.

  7. What a gorgeous gorgeous little princess!
I have 5 children and I will tell you that I cried when every single one of them went to preschool... I hated it, I think it was harder on me than it was on them! But since one is 22 years old now, I'm pretty sure we got through it! (I only just did... haha)... Seriously though, you get mom time now and she gets new friends! Awesome memories are coming your way!

  8. Charlotte is such a doll. This post made me tear up! We're sending Anna one morning a week and that is hard enough for me! I'm so glad Charlotte is doing well and happy at school :) and that you're getting a bit of a breather! Enjoy your time! (I'd love to sit and enjoy that coffee and muffin with you ) :)

  9. I'm so glad it went well! She is too cute in her t-shirt and shorts wearing her little backpack. It's hard when they start pre-school but you'll come to really value those mornings to yourself. It's amazing what you can achieve in a couple of child-free hours! Take care. x
