Cozy Autumn Glimmers

Hello, dear friends! I wanted to pop in with a few glimmers of what autumn has looked like for me. Warm cups of cappuccino and the best mixed berry cream cheese danish at the cutest French bakery, lots of candlelight as I'm not a fan of the early, dark evenings, cozy meals, matcha at home topped with frothy almond milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon, lots and lots of walks, our sweet Rosie, sunsets always and forever - and even more special to me this time of year when the days are short, freshly baked chocolate chip blondies, and the cutest book that I just started which will hopefully help to get me in the mood for the upcoming holidays. Not photographed, but I'm also watching lots of cozy Christmas movies, too!

How are you spending these autumn days? We are expecting a cold front overnight, bringing our first cold burst of the season. We will definitely be turning on the heat tonight. How's the weather where you live? Thanks for visiting, and have a great week!

  1. How am I spending Autumn? HIKING HIKING AND MORE HIKING!! I hiked SIX different trails in September; 5 in October and so far in NOvember: 2 with 2 more before Thanksgiving. (I lead a faith based hiking group that I founded when I retired 2 years ago). I'm also enjoying a mug of steaming tea (Vermont Maple and Ginger) with my fresh made chippy blond brownies I made yesterday evening when I returned from a day in the mountains hiking. I also light candles when it gets dark here around 4:30 and we have been practicing our music for the Choir (Xmas eve service). Oh and taking lots of walks daily (when I'm not hiking), beginning to make heartier meals, reading lots of good books and getting caught up on Netflix, Hulu, prime, etc etc.
Our weather here in eastern NY has been mild...we haven't lost all of our leaves yet, peak color was 2 weeks later than normal, and we haven't had a hard frost yet although that might change later this week. Today is dreary grey with rain. I love Autumn!! (and I don't typically read Xmas novels but I do watch a few movies. Started one on netflix last night but honestly couldn't get into it.).

  2. Well, Hello there! I am so happy to share some cozy autumn momnets with you, my friend. I think we spend our days in very much the same way, and that makes me happy! Everything looks so warm and inviting, just as autumn should. I also like the candle light during the early evenings, and the Christmas tree lights as well. I hope you are well, and please keep posting! I hope sophomore year is going well!

  3. Oh Julia, how I love your wonderful and unique photos. Your entryway is so charming, and your berry cream cheese Danish looks Yummy. When I visit Nel, we always go to the village, and there is a little bakery that makes the best blueberry cream cheese Danishes, and we get them every time. Your book sounds delightful. And your candle with the wee pumpkin looks so cozy. Are you posting regularly or just from time to time? I hope you have sweet November days, Julia. It's a very pleasant and thankful month. And I'm watching lots of Christmas shows too! : )

  4. Hi Julia from England. Just in the last day the weather here in the north has had a cold bite in the air...just in time to coincide with our Remembrance Day parades held yesterday so everyone stood shivering! Your lovely photos are a lovely reflection of this autumn season, I love this part of the year, slowing down and huddling up around the fire, planning for the end of year upcoming event which will be upon us before we know it. X

  5. Pretty pictures! I have a French bakery near me, and had one in northern Delaware when we lived there for most of our years. Both are different in what they seem to carry though! One has more sweeter goods than the other (and the other also has bread). andrea

  9. I do love Autumn/Fall and all the wonderful colours of the Season. Your porch is looking great with the pumpkin and pretty pansy pot. Something good to look at every time you come home or someone calls to visit.

  10. Wonderful glimmers of your cosy Autumn. The weather has turned very cold here over the last week, it's a shock to the system as it's been mild so far. I've read all of Julie Caplin's Romantic Escape books, except for the latest one, they're very enjoyable.

  11. Soooo great to see you back! Loved your Autumn cozies. Here, where I am we are in winter-mode and burrr. It's nice though, both trees have been up since after Halloween and I love a nice big cuppa and a book. Got a new one from Barnes a Christmas mystery. They sell the books for five bucks at the cafe with a purchase.

Welcome back and hope to see more of you before the year is out.
