Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We have been spending lots of time outside this weekend.  It's sunny but really hot, like 90 degrees hot!  Charlotte has been keeping cool by hanging out in her pool, running under the sprinkler, and sliding on her new slip 'n slide.  We have enjoyed a leisurely weekend at home that has consisted of lots of cooking.  I made a delicious black bean and spinach quesadilla last night followed by homemade chocolate chip cookies and tonight we had grilled salmon with dill along with potatoes and fresh corn.  I love summer and all the fresh fruits and vegetables.  My husband gets a long weekend, Yay!  We are headed to the lake tomorrow to visit my in-law's.  It should be a fun day.  Charlotte always has a blast visiting Grandma and Poppie!

Charlotte's Big Girl Bed!

I am still in the process of finishing up Charlotte's big girl bed, but wanted to share a few photos of what we have done so far.  I am working on getting a white upholestered headboard and a few accent pillows which will complete this project.  It's been fun changing up her room a bit!

The quilt and sheets are from Pottery Barn Kids.  I purchased the bedskirt fabric from a local fabric store and had the tailored skirt made.  It's perfect!  Sorry about the bedrail as it does take away from the skirt, but it was too much of a pain to remove.

I absolutely love this fabric garland (from her birthday party) draped across the window!  It's perfect in her room!

Sorry for the dark photos.  I'm not sure what is going on with my camera.  We are in the market for a new one.  Any suggestions??

I am also thinking of doing a gallery wall of her artwork and a few other paintings above the bed.  This wall needs something.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is what I woke up to this morning!  A sweet card made by Charlotte and Daddy along with beautiful roses! They also spoiled me with my favorite pancake breakfast!  It's a great day!

Happy Monday...

I am happy to report that Miss Charlotte has slept through the night in her bed for the past five nights.  We are making progress!!  We are also now "pacifier free."  She really does not seem to miss it, thank goodness.  Next on our list, potty training...wish me luck!

Thanks again for the birthday wishes!  I had a wonderful day!

Thirty-Seven

Today I am celebrating my 37th Birthday!!!  I plan on spending the day with my favorite little person, Miss Charlotte!  We are going to make chocolate cupcakes together so we can have a little party when Daddy gets home!  I also need to go for a quick haircut and maybe lunch out with my Mom.  On Saturday the three of us are spending the afternoon in Charlotte and visiting a few of my favorite shops, Cottage Chic and PaperSkyscraper.  We also plan to enjoy a yummy dinner at 300 East.  It should be a fun day!  I am looking forward to it!
